This lake is so gigantic that it takes three full days to just go round its peripheries. One dip into the cold water of this holy lake is believed to free the soul of all its sins, thus carving a straight path to heaven after death. Ancient Hindu scriptures indicate this lake as a must visit place for someone who wants to attain salvation - the highest level of achievement in Hindu religion. 08 August 2014 Day 01: Arrival Katmandu (1300mts). On arrival, our staff will meet you at the airport and escort to the Hotel, then after having your own free stroll around there in local bazaar, in evening, it’s the dinner time, and overnight stay in Katmandu hotel.
09 August 2014 Day 02: Katmandu-after breakfast, start to Katmandu guided sightseeing Pashupati nath temple and Buddha Nikanth Darshan (visit), and then back to hotel and rest of the day is free for packing and program briefing for your trip to Kailash & Mansarovar Yatra as well as we show documentary of Kailash.
10 August 2014 Day 03: Drive Katmandu to Nyalam (3700 meters - 160kms.) - This is the first day of the Yatra. After breakfast, the departure starts from Katmandu to Nepal -Tibet border by private tourist coach. It takes about 05 hours to reach Nepal-Tibet boarder. Take lunch in Nepal side in Lipping, our staff will complete customs formalities, immigration in Nepal side and check into Tibet side an autonomous part of China. After checking, we drive to a Zhangmu as known Khasa bazaar by Nepali, here stop 10-15 minutes and drive to small Tibetan town called Nyalam journey by Japanese Land Cruiser or Japanese bus. Overnight, Nepal cook make food for all yatries, stay in Guest House.
11 August 2014 Day 04: In Nyalam, After Breakfast climb up of Nyalam city about 1 & half hours for acclimatization excursion. Come back, take lunch & afternoon free
12 August Day 05: Drive Nyalam to Saga / Dongba (4500 meters – 365 kms)- After great breakfast, drive from Nylam – Lalunga La pass 5050 meters, Peku-tso lake – Salt lake & reach to Saga city after 6 hours. On the first day long driving from Nylam to Saga / Dongba over the sandy & rocky lands of Tibet. Nomads look for thousands of sheep & yaks keep you busy. Day time, we take hot lunch box for our yatri & we stop for lunch near by Pekhu Tso Lake. After lunch continue drive to & cross the Bhramha Purtra River way to Tibetan city Saga. Saga city is bigger city having many facilities way to Kailash & Mansarovar Yatra. Here takes some rest and then drive continue to Dongba, it takes one hour more drive from Saga 115kms). Over at night guest house or camping.
13 August Day 06: Saga / Dongba - to Mansarovar Lake 4580m. - 370 kms.– 6-7 hours. After breakfast, drive from Saga / Dongba to Mansarovar Lake. Today is good driving day starts with full of excitement, by the afternoon you can have the first sight of Holy Kailash Parbat and Mansarovar lake from Horchu. For lunch, we make hot lunch box and some where we stop for lunch. After Lunch continue drive to Mansarovar lake & we reach Horchu, a small village near by Mansarover Lake & we starts round Mansarovar lake from here and about 2/3 hours drive very near by Lake, Mansarovar lake is so big and it take 3 to 5 days to make round by walking. Round Lake is 102 Killo meters. Round of this Lake, there is 8 Monasteries. Finally we reach to Chiu Gompa, near the Mansarovar lake, 25% rest of round Mansarovar Lake, we do after the Kailash Parikrama, Chiu Gompa, there are guest houses & will spend a night here.
14 August 2014 Day 07: Mansarovar Lake to Darchen (4600 meters – 40 kilo meters.) – Morning, we will choose the special point to take deep dip in Mansarovar Lake taking bath in cold water, According to Hindu religion, is seen offering water, flowers, money to the God and after do Pooja of Lord Shiva & Parbwati. The pilgrims are seen meditating in Lord Shiva and reciting the names of their ancestral gods, performing homs (offering grains mixed with butter to the fire) in the name of gods, in order to relieve themselves from any kind of sins which they might have committed knowingly or unknowingly. After completing homs, they are exchanging happiness by cuddling each other, much to the amusement of the onlookers. Every body is doing Aarati (oil-fed lamps) and praying by joining hands.
Full day is given free for spiritual activities. Take lunch, around 2:00 P.M. afternoon drive to Darchen, and overnight stay is guest house. Astapad excursion also can be done interested pilgrimages will pay extra cost for the jeep.
15 August 2014 Day 08: Drive Darchen to Tarboche (Yamadwar -gate of the god of death) & 5 minutes further drive & it comes Sershong, from here starts walking to Dirapuk (4890 meters - 15kms.) – Monastery. Here some yatri can take pony & local porter for 3 days.(If you take pony & porter) You should tell in Darchen and Tibetan guide will be manage all before starting Kora. If you take pony for round Kailash, much and much easier for Yatra, This is the first day of Kailash Parikrama. We should start our journey after breakfast as early as possible. This day, we have to walk continuously for about 5 to 6 hours. Yak will carry all our goods and equipment, From Diraphuk, You can see mount Kailash north face very closed, looks Shiva Bhagwan staying there. Overnight stay at Diraphuk mud house or put tent.
16 August 2014 Day 09: Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk (4790 meters - 22kms.) - Today is very sensitive and we have to pass Dolma-La or Dormal Pass, which is 5636meters above the sea level. The weather in unpredictable in Doma-la Pass and at any time snowstorm can fall. So we try to start our journey as early as possible. In route we can have Darshan Ganesh Kund before pass and after Gaurikund as well as but it is little bit difficult to go down split walking path and touch Gaurikund Lake. From Dirapuk, slop climb up & up till to Dormala pass, after pass go steep down till Shapje Datok & after flat path till Zuthulpuk monastery. Overnight stay in mud house or put tent.
17 August 2014 Day 10: Zuthulpuk to Mansarovar Lake – after breakfast, walk down to the Chongdo about 3 hours and drive to Darchen, take lunch here & after drive to Mansarovar Lake for over night. Fill up spiritual jaal (water from Mansarovar Lake), Evening make arati, next day, our journey starts back for Kathmandu following the same route and the same system applies for all subjects of our program.
18 August 2014 Day 11: Mansarovar Lake to - Saga: Drive to Saga from Mansarovar Lake & it takes 5-6 hours. Stay guest house.
19 August 2014 Day 12: Saga to Nyalam: Drive to Nyalam, which is the last night stay in Tibet part. It takes 4-5 hours.
20 August 2014 Day 13: Nylam to Katmandu – After breakfast, drive to Zhangmu & Friendship Bridge Tibet - Nepal. After customs & immigration formalities clearance Tibet & Nepal side, we will be picked up from the Nepal side & continue our drive to Kathmandu for about 5 hours, and then transfer to the hotel. Lunch will be arrived the way back on after you arrival in Kathmandu.
21 August 2014 Day 14: Final Departure: From the hotel, transfer to airport; catch the flight for your next destination or final destination, or to use your extra day in Kathmandu & do for Himalayan mountain flight, Manakamana Darsan day trip, or Muktinath tour or Janakpur tours as well.
